Menðsívör was an enourmous creature. He was a giant snake-like demon that lived under the earth. In Norse legend, the beast only took the lives of the truly innocent and pure of heart. He slithered under the earth until he found his victim. He would burst out of the icy ground and take the person under the earth to his lair. There, he feeds on their souls and watches them suffer. Then, they die a slow, painful death. It is said that he made his way to Rötskívar and took the wife of Lor. In the legend, Lor came to the creature and had him slain in his own lair, leaving him until the end of time.
