Hauri are large cats with feathered wings. They look very similar to lions except for the markings on their fur that resemble those of Domestic Cats. They are unique to Kintaria's landscape and very rarely seen outside of Kintaria.
Hauri are mainly associated with Gargoyles because of their affinity for guard work. They can be bound, like Gargoyles, to guard a certain place or structure for as long as they live.
Hauri are subject to two different types of bonds. The first may bind them to the building or place to which they must guard. This bond is passed to any offspring born after the bond is placed. These particular bonds are breakable only by those who placed the bonds or their ancestors.
Hauri can also Bond with humanoid creatures and become the main means of transport for the creature to which they are Bonded. These Bonds are not passed on to offspring nor can they be broken.
The only power Hauri posses is the power of flight granted by their hollow bone-structure and large wings.
Hauri are often confused with their more violent cousins the Hashi. Both forms of winged cats are also mistaken for Griffins which are a completely different species all together.
